In this post, I am going to give Bible verses about finding love that I know for a fact are going to be a source of encouragement to you singles out there.

When people are looking for love, you need to have an exact understanding of what love actually is through God’s eyes, so you do not get trapped in some jacked-up version of love.

Bible verses about finding love ~ You will Get Married So Just Relax

Bible verses about finding love: “The unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband.

I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 7:32-35

Remember that being married is hard work. So often time’s women are in a rush to get married that they do not even enjoy their singleness.  In your singleness, you can pretty much do whatever you want, go after whatever you want, and work on yourself so that you can be the best version of yourself in a relationship. When are married your primary concern is your marriage.

Therefore, do not be a rush to go ahead and get married, love will come but enjoy your single time now.  Like I always say, become a happy single person and then you can become a happy relationship person.

Bible verses about finding love: “And don’t be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God’s place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. God, not your marital status, defines your life. Don’t think I’m being harder on you than on the others.” 1 Corinthians 7:17

Some people are in such a rush to get married that they are always looking to get married and never really stop to enjoy the things around them. If you live in a way that you are always wanting or wishing for something or someone else, then surely life will pass you by.

You will never enjoy the moment but will always spend your time waiting for the next moment to come.  No matter where you are in life, there is something that you need to learn, obey, enjoy, and/ or believe.  Why don’t you focus on that instead of focusing on what don’t have or who you are not with? Sometimes you just have to be in the moment.

You would not believe how many emails I get from single people wondering IF God will ever give them a husband.  If you want to be get married and want love to come to you them God will give you that because He gives us the desires of our heart. Your only job is to delight yourself in the Lord first, and love will follow.

Bible verses about finding love: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24

If you are looking for love then know that when you become one you and him are going to leave your mother and father and form your own family. That means if you are looking for love it is probably not best to get a man that is still living with his parents with no plan and/or way to move out of their home.

When looking for a love a man needs to be on his grown man status, not still being a man child being sometimes half child and sometimes half adult.  Look for a man that has his life together and be able to receive a wife.

Bible verses about finding love: “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14

It is going to be hard to do that if your husband does not even know what that means (click my blog here). And more than anything when you look for love you should have yourself together like you want the person you love to have himself together. That is a part of being equally yoked.

Bible verses about finding love ~ Letting Him Find You

Bible verses about finding love: “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22

I have written about not chasing a man so many times. Because he who finds a wife finds a good thing. You do not need to give off the aroma of desperation in order to look for love. When it is right, love will find you.

Bible verses about finding love: “Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.” Song of Solomon 8:4

With the above being said, it is better to not jump into finding love until it is time. Do not jump and leap into a situation before you are ready. You have to trust God’s timing and that love will awaken when it is time. You won’t have to force it.

These verses are some of the best verses about love because it explains exactly what love is.

Bible verses about finding love: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!

Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Love is about leaning on one another and lifting each other up. If you are searching for love then know that love is NOT selfish. It is about loving and being there for the other person, even when you do not feel like it.

With real love, if each person was so busy trying to make the other person happy, the relationship would be so much better. Look for this type of love over a superficial type of love.

Bible verses about finding love: “An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.” Proverbs 31:10-12

I know as women in a relationship we can get in our feelings and have our little attitudes. That is a part of being human, but most of all when you are looking for love be a person that someone wants to love. Like the verse says above, be a woman that does good, not harm, and supports her husband. That is not to say that you are a maid.

I certainly don’t believe Christian marriage is about that, but looking for love means you must not be selfish and be a source of support for another person.

Bible verses about finding love: “Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love.” Proverbs 5:18-19

The reason why I love this Bible verse is that so many people are superficial when it comes to love. When the person they love does not look the way they used to look or is getting older then they want to trade them in for a newer model.

What this verse speaks to, is that when you are in love stay in love. Do not fall in love with someone for superficial reasons and then after being married for 10 to 15 years, things are not holding up the way they used to or the person has a few wrinkles then you want to trade them in. Stay true to one another and have a love that lasts the test of time.

Bible verses about finding love ~ Sex Is Not Love

If you are a reader of my blog then you know I am a huge advocate of celibacy and working against your fleshy desires. That is because so many people have sex and then they confuse sex with love. As you can tell above, you should see clearly what love is and now I am going to tell you what it is not.

Bible verses about finding love: “But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:2

This one is such a hard one to digest for some people, that God wants you to have sex inside the context of marriage and that is one of the reasons why He wants you to get married.  In this world today, it is so easy for everyone to want to share their body with one another and think nothing of it.

When really, sex was made to be a part of LOVE. Not to take the place of LOVE.  When you are married and in love then you are having sex, but just because you have sex with someone that does not mean you are not in love.

Bible verses about finding love: “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” Hebrews 13:4

To date, my Can a married man love his mistress is the MOST popular blog on my site. Because for some reason people love to tell me that God is okay with them stepping outside of their marriage OR okay with them stepping into someone else’s marriage.

Let the marriage bed be undefiled, that means you do not need to be in someone else’s marriage bed and finding love does not lie with you being with someone else’s husband. God is very clear that he will judge those who do this.

Bible verses about finding love: “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

I want you to check out my blog the benefits of celibacy. Abstaining from sex before marriage is for your benefit and it will help you find love AND not lust or infatuation, which is what having sex before marriage will do. And lust and/or infatuation can produce the same effects of love in the sense that it will make you think that you are in love when really you are not. Which I have a video on below.

That is why God asks you to get yourself together and not feel the need to have sex with someone because you may “like them.” Real love comes from abstaining from sex and determining the extent of your love without sex confusing you.
