1. Bible Verses For Single Mothers

• The LORD God said, it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him. Genesis 2:18

Why I chose this scripture for single mothers

No matter how you became a single mom, I know that it is a desire for many single moms to be married or re-married.  Sometimes it feels like you are never going to have a complete family and it is easy to get distraught about your relationship status.

God does care about your relationship status even if it is single (click here to read my blog). And He clearly says that it is not good for man to be alone, which means that it is not God’s desire for you to be alone forever.  Whenever you are feeling that you are never going to meet someone then remember this verse, it is not good for man to be alone.

Why I chose these Bible verses for single mothers

Often times as a single mother you feel like you are last.  You feel that everyone is getting ahead and you are seen as being last and being left behind.  But never feel that way, there are plenty of single moms that are killing it (see my blog here).

A promise that God gives you is that you can be the head and not the tail and that you can be first and not last. But instead of focusing on other people, you need to focus on God and where He is taking you.  That is why it is always important to remember this verse. Yes you may be a single mom and you may feel like the tail, but that is just the feeling and you can be the head if you choose to be.

4. Encouraging Bible Verses For Single Moms What Does God Say About Single Mothers

• She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. Proverbs 31: 17

Why I chose this scripture for single mothers

With that being said, if you want to be first and not last, not only do you need to focus on God but you need to focus on your work. Hard work will pay off eventually (see my blog here) and to whom much is given much is required (see my blog here). So when you think about this verse as a single mom, even when you feel overwhelmed remember that everything that you do as a single mom is being seen by God and will pay off.

Why I chose this as a scripture for single mothers

Know that as a single mother you wear your strength and your dignity all the time in the day to day task that you do, and nothing can get to you because being a single mom has made you stronger.

• She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue Proverbs 31:26

Wisdom is one of the most important things that God wants you to have as a person which I spoke about in the video below.

Why I chose this as a Bible verse for a single mom:

As a single mother, you need to know that if God is for you and then who can be against you.  Do not worry about tomorrow and have no fear about tomorrow. Not only are you strong but you are prepared for what the future holds, that is why you will laugh at the days to come. The above verse reminds you of that.

I have written blogs on your words.  Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks and your word is your bond (click here to read). What you need to understand is that your words mean so much and they have so much power.

Choose to share words that wisdom and offer words of encouragement to other women and even other single moms. Choose to speak life over complaining about your situation and what is going wrong. Choose to be positive and speak positively over negative.

This verse is a reminder that your status as a single mom can be so much more than if you allow it to be. If you choose to speak life over death and positive over negative.

Why I chose this one of the Bible Verses For Single Mothers

When you are a single mother there are so many people watching you. Your children are watching you, their teachers are watching you, your children’s friends are watching you, and even other moms may be watching you.

With that being said give them something good to watch. Give them a good example to watch. If people are judging you for being a single mom then you need to be an example and be the best single mom.  If you know another single mom who is a hot mess then lead by example and show her how to be a good single mom. Remember this verse and allow it to guide your action.

• Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them. Proverbs 13:24

Why I chose this scripture for single moms

Often times as single mothers we will let our children run all over us. Sometimes because it is easier and we do not have time to deal with their tantrums.  Sometimes even out of guilt because you are a single mom and their family may not look like the family on TV.

As a result, you have a bunch of bad kids out here running all over people and running all over you. The reason why you need to remember this verse is that no matter how much you feel bad for your kids, never let them get by, by being disrespectful and having no discipline. There is nothing wrong with disciplining your children, in fact, you should discipline them. And to do so is to help them and it is to help yourself. Check out my video below if you need help.

• If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7:11

Why I chose these Bible verses for singles mothers:

I wrote a blog about how God loves us like a parent which you can read here and it is like we love our children. Imagine how much you love and care for your children and know that God loves you a thousand times more than that. So when you feel that God has forgotten about you or you feel like you are never going to get anywhere in life, think about this verse.

Think about how you love your children and the life you want to give your children, and know that God has the same gifts in life that He wants to give to you.  When you feel that all is lost or down or like God has forgotten about you, know that is not the case. He is your father, He will provide and never leave or forsake you.

10. Bible verses for single moms

• “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

Why I chose these Bible verses for singles mothers:

Maybe you think that you were a mistake or that you made a mistake having your children. Your children are not mistakes and you did not make a mistake having them.  God ordained it and He knew it was going to happen. So nothing is a mistake. If you start to resent yourself or your situation as a single mom or your child then remember DON’T it was all for a reason. And please if you resent your child then check out my video below of a single mom who had these emotions toward her child.

He knew both you and your children before you were born, He also ordained you to have a purpose.  It is up to you to find your purpose and train your children in a Godly way so that when they get older they can find their purpose.  Neither you nor your child is here by accident. And if God sought for you to be here, then there is a reason for it.
