Have you ever stopped to think that you are a daughter of a king? As Christian women we say the saying about daughter of a king, and it sounds really cute, and fancy and all but what does that mean for you? How do you behave? Your inheritance? And even how you see yourself? Do you see yourself as a daughter of a king or have you forgotten your royal position?
Because so many women have, and even though they call God their father they never really own up to what that is. I mean think of it like this. Think of royalty and think of the way they behave, the way they act, the way other people treat them, see them, and even the way that they dress. Then think of yourself? If you are the daughter of the MOST HIGH God, he being the King of Kings, then should you not put yourself in an even higher regard than a man made royal position?
I remember when God first spoke this word into my heart. I legit did not think anything was wrong with me when in fact there was a WHOLE lot wrong with me. I had to do some self reflection and even some changing (which you can do that process on your own here). And when I started to change I began to see myself through God’s eyes and see myself and TREAT myself the way God saw me which was royalty and I realized I was treating myself BELOW that.
I was allowing other people to treat me below that. And now, just like that queen in Alice and Wonderland, when people start treating me below my royalty status, I am like that queen of hearts. I get her on a whole new level know, maybe not that extreme. But when people are in my world, making me doubt myself, and they are not giving making me happy then they can get out of my life.
And now, I am going to tell you, the same thing that the Holy Spirit spoke to me when I changed and the conversation went a little something like this:
“If you are a daughter of a king then why have you forgotten your royal position? Why are you out hear acting like a peasant with no home training when you are my daughter? If you are a daughter of a king why are you allowing men to emotionally abuse you, abusive your body, and crush your spirit? If you are my daughter, why do you not remember who you are?” And that was a good question.
And so I ask you. Daughter of a king, have you forgotten your royal position and are you sitting around acting like some regular person when you were meant to have an inheritance, blessings, and the life that God intended for you? Perhaps when you remember that you are a daughter of king, then you will step into your calling and step into your destiny, and stop living below what God intended for you. Now let’s get into the reasons why you may be, living below who God created you to be.
2. You Are A Daughter Of King ~ You may have forgotten your royal position because it was taken from you
We all have issues and we get them simply by going through life. Other people’s issues can cause you to have your own issues, people can abuse you, hurt you, and damage you so much that they make you believe that you are indeed less than. That you are nothing and that you are worth nothing.
I want to take the account of Tamar from the Bible and you can full blog here on Tamar. But I am going to give you her story on a nutshell. Tamar was a princess, the daughter of King David. She was lured into a bad situation by her half-brother and raped. And from there.
“Now she had on a long-sleeved garment; for in this manner the virgin daughters of the king dressed themselves in robes. Tamar put ashes on her head and tore her long-sleeved garment which was on her; and she put her hand on her head and went away, crying aloud as she went.” 2 Samuel 13:19-20
In this instance you see that Tamar felt she was no longer a princess and so she ripped her royal robes. We also know that Tamar went to go live to be a desolate woman. But let me ask you this. Just because Tamar ripped off her own royal robe did that make her any less of a princess? No she was not a virgin but was she still not royalty? Now, let me answer that question for you. Tamar was still a princess no matter what happened to her.
And the fact of the matter is that no one else ripped off her royal robe but her. The, third fact is that she thought that her half-brother robbed her of her royal position and she had no choice but to go hide herself away like she no longer mattered. She took on the FAULT and the consequences for something that was NOT her fault. And even though someone else did wrong to her, she allowed that wrong to break her completely and we never hear from her again.
So what I am telling you is that no one can take from you what you do not allow for them to take from you. Yes they may hurt you, yes they may try to stomp out your light, yes it may not be fair, and yes they may be wrong, but do not let them take your robes and rob you of your title.
They can take what they can, but you are still the daughter of a king and NOTHING is going to change that. So I ask you, who has taken your royal robes? Who have made you think so low of yourself that you forget that you are the royal one? Who has made you forget who you are and allowed you to live in obscurity instead of taking your royal position among God? And more than anything, why have you allowed it? 3. Daughter Of A King Acting Like A Peasent~ Because You Chose To And Don’t Even Realize It
This is the most common reason why daughters of the King loose their position. It is because they have willingly stepped off of their throne and want to go live in a life of poverty, heartache, and pain. Not because they have to but because they choose to and they don’t even realize it.
Yes, the world may seem like a wonderful place and they go and indulge themselves in a lot of behaviors that seem fun but are reckless. Having sex with a lot of men may sound fun but really they are creating soul ties and are robbing you, daughter of a king, of your royal position. Let’s take the story of the prodigal son is a prime example of this.
There was a man who had two sons. So he divided his property between them. The younger son set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine, and he began to be in need. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. Luke 15: 11-16
Now what type of nonsense is this? At home he had wealth and he had an inheritance but he took his wealth, wasted it, and was soon eating out of the same pod as a pig. It sounds crazy right? BUT so many of you are doing the same thing. Maybe not literally but figuratively. Giving men, that are not worth anything, your body (the most precious thing you have). Choosing to throw away your gifts, your callings, and what you are good at because other people don’t like it or because your attention is so caught up in a man that is not worth anything anyway.
“When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!’” Luke 15:17
Then all of a sudden he remembered who he was. He remembered that he did not have to sit here, starve to death, eating and picking up behind pigs. He remembered his position and he remembered that he could go back home to a place in which he did not have to suffer like he was. And that is exactly what he did and his father welcomed him back with open arms. How many of you are going to come to your senses?
Come to the realization of you are? Who God wants you to be? Who you belong to? And leave some of the foolishness behind? How many of you are tired of getting the tired leftovers in life and you need to remember who you are? To stop looking for the answers in people, places, things, men, and even material wealth. That you will simply remember who are you, and step back into your royal position and a daughter of a king. Stop chasing what already belongs to you through wordily means and look to your Godly father to give you what is yours.
4. Daughter Of A King ~ Where is your inheritance?
Now you may be saying to yourself that you are a daughter of a king then you don’t feel like it. Because you are broke, struggling, tired of working, and you want someone to take care of you, you want a bigger house, want to have the life of a queen but you don’t have it so where it is? If indeed you are a daughter of a king. So you remember the prodigal son and how he squandered his wealth? He did that because he was not ready for his inheritance and if you are wondering where yours is, it is like the same thing.
Just because you are a daughter of a king does not mean God is freely going to pour out all the inheritance that He has stored up for you KNOWING that you will just squander it and you are not ready. And so you do have an inheritance but it is in a trust. And trust is:
A trust can also enable you to control not only to whom your assets will be disbursed, but also how the money will be paid out — a crucial point if the beneficiary is a child or a family member whose ability to properly handle money is questionable.
So because God does not know if you are able to handle what your inheritance is, then it is in a trust and the more you earn HIS trust then then HE will be able to pour down the blessings onto you. Because He can trust you not to do the wrong thing with your wealth, because you have come to your senses and decided to accept your royal position and God knows that whatever inheritance He gives you will need to be handled responsibility.
So how many of us daughters of the King have gone and wasted all of our wealth and are out here living like peasants forgetting that we are a princess. Forgetting that we have a wealthy father at home that can save us AND welcome us with open arms no matter what we have done. That can give us an inheritance once we have come to our senses and he can trust us.
The ways of the world or the works of the flesh (see my blog here) is only cute for so long. When you get to a place where you are struggling, looking crazy, and then like the lost son you will remember yourself. Remember who you are and who you belong to. You do not have to go out here and give yourself to every man, get used to a life of struggling, to let people tear you down, to be treated like crap, or to be beat down by anyone else. Who would do that to royalty and as someone in the royal family why would you allow it?
Remember yourself. Come back to the King, take your place as a daughter of a king, and choose not to care what anyone else has to say about it. God will welcome you home with no questioned asked. This is God’s house and it was his wealth and he was going to celebrate his lost child.
Just like God wants to celebrate you, if you were to come back to Him. He is not going to care what you did or what other people have to say about you. You are still royalty in his eyes, but for a brief moment you have forgotten yourself and sought out to live like a slave. But now that you have returned, God keeps no grudges and you can be all that you were meant to be.
So I ask you, why daughter of a King have you forgotten your royal position? Why do you set out and live below what God has intended for you? Why have you allowed other people to take what belongs to you and why have you ripped off your royal robes? Just like the lost son you need to come to your senses and remember yourself.
