If you want to know “who does God say I am?” Then I am going to answer those questions for you.  But the answer is never as simple as 1,2,3.  Because who we are to God can be very different depending on the role he has for us.

He loves all of us, yes, but when you are asking yourself “who does God says I am,” I want you to remember that God says that you are unique and he has a unique role for you.  Just imagine if you have children, and your child came up to you who they were, the last thing you would say is:

“I want you to be more like your sister Susie”

It is the same way with God.  He says you are you and that person is not like any other and the purpose and skills that you have are unique to you. Therefore who God says you are, is unique to you.

He is not going to ask you to be someone else. So who we are to Him is not the same as everyone else because God sees us all as individuals.  And doesn’t go and tell us to be clones of our other brothers and sisters. For the Bible clearly states:

Who Does God Say That I Am Bible Verse: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

So when you think about “who does God say I am” then always keep this in mind.  Also, check out my blog on the parable of the talents

1. Who Goes God Say That I Am ~ You Are Here For A Reason

If I had a dime for every person I meant that does not realize that they are here for a reason, that they have a purpose, and that they have talents I would have a good chunk of change. Because so many people focus on not having a purpose or their plan not working out the way that they like.

And then they get all depressed thinking that they are no one, God has forgotten about them, and they never try to become the person God sees them as.  Because they do not see themselves or their situation in the way that God does.  The Bible teaches us:

  • What Does God Say I Am Bible Verse: And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Notice that there are two phrases in this Bible verse. Not only does it tell you that you are here for a reason but it also teaches us that if we love God then whatever it is that we are going through will work out in our favor because of the plans God has for our life that is specific to us allowing us to become the person God wants us to be.

He wants to tell who you are, what He wants you to do, and who you are to Him; but if you do not know God then how can you hear Him tell you who are. And even if feel you that God has a plan for you but you don’t see it yet and you start to believe that you have no purpose, then watch my video below on how to trust God’s plan when it seems like there is no plan.  And don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel by clicking here

2. Who Does God Say That I Am ~ You Are His Child

Did you know that mankind is the only species that was made in the likeness of God?  When we go back to the creation of Adam, God literally blew his own breath in mankind and he specifically stated that we were made in His likeness.

  • Who Does God Say I Am Bible Verse: then the Lord God formed [that is, created the body of a] man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being [an individual complete in body and spirit]. Genesis 2:7

If you want to know who God says you are, then look no further than the one who created you. He created you to be an extension of Him.  So never should you count yourself unworthy or to have low self-esteem when you literally have God flowing through your veins.  How powerful must you be and how much does He love you in order to make you his child. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.  John 1:12

God says that you deserve authority and privilege. That means that He is saying that you are deserving of a good life simply because you are his child.

3. Who Does God Say I am Final Points:

who does God say I am who does God say that I am

What if you knew that you are the child of the highest king in the land.  And that king was able to create you with His exact specifications giving you everything that you need to succeed in life.

And becoming all that he wanted his child to be.  As I said in my video below.  Being God’s child is not perfect but He has given you all of what you need to become who he wants you to become in this life.  The Bible states:

“For it is just like a man who was about to take a journey, and he called his servants together and entrusted them with his possessions. To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and then he went on his journey.” Matthew 25:14-15

I know it can seem hard to believe that God wants you to have a great life and that you are a powerful being that can have privilege and authority in this world.  It is hard to believe it when you do not see it.

Bust just like the above Bible verse says God gave you your talents based on who He thought you can become.  Some were given a lot aka 5 talents and some were given a little aka one talent. But either way, you were giving everything you needed to become who God wants you to be.  And even in our struggles, God is trying to tell us something. For the Bible states:

Who Does God Say I Am Bible Verse: And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation].

Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:3-5
