4 Lessons We Can All Learn From Mike Pence’s Marriage

April 20, 2017 // 0 Comments

In 2002 Mike Pence, made a statement saying that he didn’t go out to dinner with other women without his wife being present and that he didn’t attend events serving alcohol unless his wife joined him. I don’t want to get into politics on if you like him or not.  I do not even know if I like Pence or not.  But I do know how to separate the person from the person’s actions.   I am in the minority but I am in agreement with the statement made by Mike Pence and here is why. Why give people a reason Mike Pence is not a celebrity per se, but he is popular enough that if the media [...]

Why Trump Being President Equals An Increase On Hate Crimes. A Psychological Perspective

November 18, 2016 // 1 Comment

According to Advocate.com, there have been over 400 hate crimes since Trump’s election. Trump has spit out all type of racist and sexist comments during his entire campaign and now that he is elected, of course people have adapted a new found boldness with these acts of hate. Trump is president and there is little that can be done over that. But my issue is that Trump does not want to take responsibility in the fact that the reason why some people in the U.S feel so comfortable in doing hate crimes, is because they feel they have a leader that will agree with what they are doing. I am tired [...]

To Accept Trump Or Not Accept Trump; That Is The Question

November 9, 2016 // 0 Comments

It is only fair for me to touch on the election since we have now done the unthinkable and elected a crazy man as president. As I woke up this morning I had accepted that the person that I voted for lost and Trump is now the president.  Does it make me mad? Yes. Frustrated? Of course.  But he is still the president. If this election or the last 8 years has taught me anything, it is that this country is more divided. During the Obama administration people got mad that Obama was in office. Everything was blamed on him.  Trump took this to the extreme and blamed Isis on Obama, I mean [...]

Television Pastors Who Are Rich, Is God Blessing Them Or Are They Blessing Themselves?

October 10, 2016 // 1 Comment

I scroll through my Facebook feed and regularly see articles posted about some of our most prominent television pastors. Many of them are negative, accusing these pastors of stealing money because they are worth millions of dollars.  The worse are the comments that I read at the bottom of the page by people calling the pastors everything but the child of God.  I mean it is crazy!. Granted there are many pastors out there who do abuse their money and teach wrong things for a buck. But there are plenty of pastors out there who do the right thing with their money. The bigger question is where [...]

Teacher Bae. Clothing Controversy. Inappropriate for a School Environment or No?

September 16, 2016 // 0 Comments

Recently we have all been exposed to the teacher bae controversy in what she was wearing to work. To be honest I am a woman who is black AND curvy; and as soon as I saw the pictures I thought that her attire was not appropriate.  I saw the pictures when they first came out before anyone was even talking about her clothes and that was the first thing that came to my mind.  “Why is her dress so short?” I think that she is a gorgeous women and her body is beautiful. But at the same time we ALL need to be mindful of our body types.  There are some really cute dresses and skirts that I have [...]

Love and Hip Hop Hollywood Recap. Why The Side Chick Will Never Be The Main Chick #LAHHH

August 23, 2016 // 3 Comments

As I watched the latest episode of Love and Hip Hop Hollywood, I must say that I was both appalled and disappointed by the recent events of one of my most favorite couples on the show. Shanda and Willie.  I did not see him cheating on her coming.  Their relationship always seemed genuine to me.  But the real situation that I wanted to tackle is the “other woman.” I do not want to excuse what Willie did. I feel that he was 100% wrong for stepping out on his wife, no matter if it was text messages or an affair.  All of it is the same to me.  But let’s focus on the “other [...]

July 19, 2016 // 10 Comments

Unless you have been living under a rock, I am sure that you are aware of the Kanye West and Taylor Swift “beef.” In case you are not I will give you a quick rundown.  Kanye West states in his song “I made that B*tch famous.”  Kanye states that he got permission from Taylor Swift to call her a b*tch.  But in a video released by Kim K, Kanye is talking to Taylor, but he fails to mention on the video that he plans on calling her a b*tch in his song.  He further mentions that he is friends with Taylor Swift and that his friendship with her is somehow why he is telling her about his [...]

Is America Headed For A Race War? Or Can the “Greatest Country in the World” Learn To Co-Exist.

July 8, 2016 // 7 Comments

America has always prided itself on being a wonderful nation that is full of a diverse group of people. However, if you were to look at the news recently one might think that America is full of intolerant people that has the temperament of one of those radical countries that we are always talking about.  Unarmed black people are randomly gunned down by the police and are not convicted for their crimes.  Even when there is video footage of the crime taking place.  Black people feel that the “Justice for all” slogan does not apply to us because we have lived so long without justice. Many [...]

Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You Can Be Both Beautiful And Smart.

June 6, 2016 // 22 Comments

I tuned in to the Miss USA Pageant last night and I can say that I enjoyed it. This time for me the pageant was not all about who was wearing a bathing suit or just the glitz and glam of it all, but the fact that it showed cased both beautiful and capable women. In case you do not know the winner of the Miss USA pageant was Miss District of Columbia. An Officer in the Army Reserve, both beautiful, and smart. Now I will admit that I may be a little bias because I am in the DC area, I work with the military in my day job, and my mother is retired from the ARMY.  I have a soft spot for women [...]

3 Lesson Everyone Can Learn From Eve’s Marriage to Maximillion Cooper

April 21, 2016 // 0 Comments

Watching Eve and her progression to both a wife and step mother is proof to me that never know what to expect out of life.  Imagine that Eve, who started off as a rapper is now living in England with her multi-million dollar husband.  I guess it is true that God knows what we need, over we do.  It is hard for me imagine that before meeting her husband, if Eve would have described her perfect husband, I doubt it would have been a divorcee with four kids. I personally think that we have to grow as people in order to be ready to accept the person that is meant for us.  In an interview Eve [...]
