How many times have we heard he who finds a wife finds a good thing?  Probably a thousand, right? But what we don’t hear is that women also need to do their part and be in a position to be found.  I have done a part one about putting yourself in position to the found which you can watch down below and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel by clicking here.

So, this is more of a part two because sad to say I see so many women getting disappointed by not being found by a man when really they are not even putting themselves out there.  And they feel that if they go out and stray to far away from the four corners of their walls that God is going to strike them down with lighting or because some Christian women have the impression that they cannot go anywhere or do anything.

But let us go ahead and debunk that myth right now.  I do not want any of you sitting around thinking yourself too godly to go anywhere and put yourself into a position. Because unless the man is going to use telepathy to feel his way to you, you can still put yourself in position and there is nothing wrong with that.  Now let’s go to Ruth.

1. How Ruth Put Herself In Position To Be Found By Boaz

When Boaz saw Ruth in his field he was fully aware of the he who finds a wife finds a good thing because as soon as he saw her he knew that he had found a good thing. Also, check out my blog on how to find your Boaz by clicking here. But let’s back up to what happened before Ruth met Boaz.  She actually intentionally put herself in position in order to meet someone.  How to we know that because the Bible specifically says she said this:

And Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor.” Naomi said to her, “Go ahead, my daughter.” Ruth 2:2

Ruth knew that she was going to the field to go find some food because her and her mother and law were starving and she knew that she was going to the field to find favor with someone.  Now there is some important things that we need to note about Ruth about what she did and did not do.   Because remember it is still he who finds a wife finds a good thing, so Ruth did not show up in the middle of the field trying to thirst trap and find a man in order to be found.  She still maintained some honor and dignity.

2. Ruth Put Herself In Position But Did Not Chase

Ruth was putting herself in position yes, but she was not doing it solely to find a man. Her main point of going into the field of Boaz was to go find some food so that they can eat not just to go hunting for a man.

What that means for you.

Let’s not take the he who finds a wife finds a good thing too far.  You should be go about living your life simply just to live your life. But what you should not be doing is going any and everywhere on the prowl, staring down every man that you see in hopes that he can find you and see that you are a good thing.   Remember the Bible verse is he who finds a wife finds a good thing so he still needs to find you.

You do not need to be chasing men down in the middle of the grocery store, bending over to get something on the bottom shelf to show off your assets to be found and so that a man can see what a good thing you are.  Ruth was simply being herself and Boaz too notice of her, and it was then based on her behavior that he noticed that she was a good thing worth finding.  Let’s take the following Bible verses:

Boaz asked the overseer of his harvesters, “Who does that young woman belong to?”  The overseer replied, “She is the Moabite who came back from Moab with Naomi.  She said, ‘Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters.’ She came into the field and has remained here from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter. Ruth 2:5-7

Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before.  May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge. Ruth 2:11-12

What this means for you:

You do not have to fake the funk, go above and behind, jumping up and down, and doing the most in order to draw attention of a man.  Let’s not take this to the extreme and have you going out in a bikini to every day places because you want to be found and you feel like you are putting yourself in position. Once again that is just thirst trapping.  This may be an extreme example but you know what I mean.  When you are in a public place, talking to loud so a man will notice you, being too aggressive in your flirting so that he can get the picture and know that you are trying to get with him.

That is not what we are doing.  Remember he who finds a wife finds a good thing but your goal is to put yourself in position, not to  become the aggressor in the situation and take the role of the man and to do any and everything to get him to notice you.  Notice how Ruth got Boaz to notice her which you can watch down below:

3. He Who Finds A Wife Find A Good Thing But Show Some Interest Its Okay

Ruth showed her interest.  Once Boaz showed his interest in her Naomi told Ruth what the custom was in order to show herself eligible for marriage and so the Bible states:

My daughter, I must find a home for you, where you will be well provided for. Now Boaz, with whose women you have worked, is a relative of ours. Tonight he will be winnowing barley on the threshing floor. Wash, put on perfume, and get dressed in your best clothes. Then go down to the threshing floor, but don’t let him know you are there until he has finished eating and drinking.  When he lies down, note the place where he is lying. Then go and uncover his feet and lie down. He will tell you what to do. Ruth 3:1-5

Now let’s not get carried  with this and think that by going to a man’s house in the middle of the night is going to be a way to show your interest in this day and age.  It may tell him that you are interested in something and that something is mainly sex.  So I am NOT talking about putting yourself in a compromising position to win over a man.  Because the above was just a Jewish custom.

So what this means for you:

But I think often times as Christian women we can be so closed off and not open even when we are interested in a man.  We expect him to read our minds or for him to pick through our walls of being guarded and fight to get to know us.  You can watch my video below on how being too guarded can run away good men.

But all and all just know that it is okay to be open, to flirt back, and to let a man know that you are interested in him too.  If you are out and about somewhere you can feel free to make eye contact or to even smile and this gives a man a signal to approach you because you are open and receptive to being approached.

You cannot just go to an event and say “he who finds a wife finds a good thing and like Sophia said I am putting myself in position to be found”  all the while sitting there with a resting mean face, not looking around, with your armed crossed, and closed off body language.  No one is going to approach you doing this.  Be receptive to being approached and being found by a good man.

I really hope that this gave you some insight on he who founds a wife finds a good thing is really a two fold situation.  Yes men do find but you also have to put yourself in position to be found.  Go on vacation, get out, to do some things, go out with your girlfriends, or even by yourself. Also check out my blog on how to meet good quality men.

As long as you are appropriate in what you are doing and where you are going (as in you are not going to some orgy night club telling yourself that you are putting yourself in position, that’s is NOT what I mean).  I mean do not be afraid to get out and go out.  And also don’t forget to pick up my book for single women “Fix It Jesus For Single Women Only” which you can click here to buy.
