There is an art to answering prayers as far as God is concerned. We have a prayer answering God but God is not just gonna answer any and every prayer that you throw out there. And let me just tell you that God does answer our prayers even if the answer is no or one that we do not like.

Which is why I am going to tell you the art of God answering prayers so that you can stop waiting and start doing prayers that get answered.  The first lesson you need to learn is that God will and can give us what we want, but that does not mean that He will.  It is always your right to pray for anything that you want, but God reserves the right to not answer your prayer depending on HOW you are praying and what you are saying. Which is what I am going to teach you. Prayer Answering God ~ 1. God Answering Your Prayers By Praying For What God Wants

If you are a Christian then you more than likely know the Lords’ prayer and if you want to learn how to pray then look no further than the Lord’s prayer because literally Jesus told us that when we do not know what to pray just pray the Lords prayer. And this is the first step to God answering prayers by praying for what God wants. Take the following verse from the Lord’s prayer.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10

When you pray these words you are literally asking God for HIS will to be done and for him to bring down whatever is going on in heaven down to Earth which once again is focused on His will. And since you know that when you pray, prayers like this that it is God’s will then you are pretty much praying an answered prayer. Now, I know what you may be thinking. That you want to pray for what you want to pray for and you want to pray for something specific. What if you don’t want God will and you do not like it?

First of all God’s will is the best will. There were times that I have prayed for God’s will and even though it was not the answer I would have preferred or what I wanted it ended up being for the best.  As I continue this method of knowing and praying for God’s will to be done, I then started to get closer to God and begin to know what God’s will was. And so I began to pray what God wanted me to pray knowing full well the prayers would get answered because I knew what God’s will was. You can check out my video down below on dicenment and asking God for wisdom where I talk more about this.

We Have A Prayer Answering God ~ What’s my point:

As your grow in your walk with God, you will begin to want what God wants, and you will begin to pray how God wants you to pray. And you will not worry about God not answering a prayer how you want Him to because you will want the same answer as God. You can simply find out what God wants by letting Him guide you  though the Holy Spirit (click here to see my blog). And when you pray what God wants you to pray then He is going to answer those prayers because He is the one that told you to pray it in the first place.  You will learn to recognize what to pray for and what not to pray for.

A big mistake is that we pray for things we should not be praying for.  We may pray to keep a job or to make a promotion because that is what WE want, but it may not be what God wants.  Even though these prayer seems harmless and would be good for us, God may be trying to move you to another job (click my blog here for more on God telling you to move).

These are things that we recognize when we are plugged into God that way we will not frustrate ourselves praying for something that we know is not in God’s will and we start praying for thing that He whats us to pray for. Praying for God’s will to be done is the key for him to start answering prayers.

We Have A Prayer Answering God ~ Case in point: Me

I was once working a job that I did not like and then I began to pray to stay at that job, but to either be moved or have less interaction with the people I was having issue with. I ended up  losing my job and at the time I felt like God did not answer my prayer.  But He did, His intention was for me to move into another line of work but I did not see that because I did not ask him.

And had I asked him and prayed what he wanted then things would have been a lot smoother, instead of praying for what I wanted and me losing my job randomly and everything being a hot mess.  It would have been different if I would have known that it was time for me to move on and prayed for wisdom in that, and preparing before hand instead of just my own will and God’s will being done anyway and catching me off Guard.

2. We Have A Prayer Answering God ~ The Art Of God Answering Your Prayer Is To Pray With A Pure Heart

If  my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

and

The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him. Proverbs 15:8

When you pray God knows the reason why you are praying. You cannot pray for someone to get hurt, for someone to get fired, and do not pray prayers that really come for a place of malice.  You can tell yourself that you are praying this prayer from a good place, but that will be determined by God.  If you are coming from a place of ill will even if it is not apparent to you, it is apparent to God.  And your prayers will not get answered.

So if you want to know the art that God uses to answer prayers then know this. Before you pray you really need to examine your intentions.

  • Why are you praying this?
  • Who is it benefiting?
  • Is it just benefiting you or other people?
  • Will this bring harm to anyone?
  • Or are you coming from a negative place.

More than anything pray with a pure heart, with humility, and do not pray just because you want something. But pray all the time. Imagine if you knew someone and the only time they came to you or spoke to you was to ask you for money or when they wanted something. That is the opposite of having good motives, a pure heart, and good intentions because really they are just trying to use you. And that is why God sees right through you when your intention or motives are not clear.

3. We Have A Prayer Answering God ~ The Art of God Answering Your Prayers It To Pray For People.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:3-4

This should come to no surprise to you that praying for other people is a sure way to get a prayer answers as long as it is not malice like we mentioned above and you have good intentions.  When Jesus came he gave two specific set of instructions that we must do as Christians.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ˜Love your neighbor as yourself.  There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30-31

When you pray for other people you are choosing to love them and when you pray for other people you are choosing to love God.  Which is why these are prayers that will get answered. So let me give you an example of what a PURE prayer looks like. You can pray that your ex-boyfriend lives a happy life.  But you cannot pray that your ex will see how awesome you are and come back to you.

So if you do that and you wonder why God is not answering your prayers even though you are praying for other people then know it is because you are impeding on someone else’s free will.  God is not the God of force.  He is never going to force someone to do what you want them to do, if the person does not want to do it.  That is why He gave all of us free choice. God is not a witch doctor placing love spells on people and making them do things they don’t want to just to answer your prayers.

Prayers that take free choice from other people, will never be answered. But on the plus side praying for someone’s well being and really meaning it are prayers that get answered.  But I must let you know that people still have free will.  You can pray for someone to get off drugs and then you may still wonder why they are on drugs.

It is not that God did not answer the prayer because He did.  He more than likely  provided a way for that person to get off drugs but it is up to that person to want to stop doing drugs.  Which is why I need you to understand that YES God will answer these prayers BUT when other people are involved they still have an element of choice.

4. We Have A Prayer Answering God ~ The Art Of God Answering Your Prayers By Praying a Selfless Prayer

The definition of selfless is, having little or no concern for oneself, especially with regard to fame, position, money, etc.; unselfish. Now I know that may sound like it is not fun because you may even want these things.  As I said in a previous blog the LOVE of money is the root of all evil not money itself.  To prove my point I actually wanted to take the Bible verse of Solomon.

God asked Solomon to pray for something and whatever it was God was going to give it to him.

The Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, Ask for whatever you want me to give you. 1 Kings 3:5

Now mind you Solomon could have asked for a million things that could have benefited him and him only.  But instead he said the following

So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours? The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.  Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for ”both wealth and honor” so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings.1 Kings 3:9-13

So you see, Solomon asked for wisdom so that he could lead God’ people (this was a selfless prayer). God not only answered his prayer but also gave Solomon riches because his prayer was so selfless. So what we can learn here is that God will answer prayers that are selfless and because they are selfless God will also reward you in the process.

5. We Have A Prayer Answering God ~ The Art Of God Answering Your Prayers You Must Be Real

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Matthew 6:7

You can read my blog here on how to talk to God. I remember when I USE TO pray it was some formal ritual that I just did, just to say that I did it and hoped that God would come through. That prayer is not real.  That prayer is just a prayer that I was saying because that is what I thought I needed to say and how I needed to do it.  So when you pray do not walk around showboating to show other people and God how holy you are and much or how long you can pray. Pray from the heart and pray from a place of being real.

He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea Psalm 102:17

6. We Have A Prayer Answering God ~ The Art Of God Answering Your Prayers Is Know That Prayers Take Time

Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Daniel 10:12-13

Whenever you pray God is listening and he is also sending an answer to your prayer. As you can see in this verse, Daniel prayed and God answered his prayer right away, but the devil fought the angel sent to answer Daniel’s prayer. And for that reason Daniel’s prayer was not answered for 21 days.  So do not get mad or angry at God just because a prayer is not answered right when it leaves your lips you do not know what is going on. Instead:

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

If you have followed all of these rules and you have not seen the answer to your prayers, then keep prayeing until you do. We have to continue to pray and give thanks to God. If you know someone who needs some help in their prayer life then go ahead and share this post with them.
