My name is Sophia Reed. I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and I am a National Certified Counselor. I am a PhD candidate, which just means that I should be finishing my doctorate in the next few months in Human Behavior. My past work experience includes working with and counseling adults, couples, families, children, military members, and faith based counseling.
As a National Certified Counselor, it means that I have specialized knowledge in:
- Human Growth and Development
- Social and Cultural Foundations
- Helping Relationships in Counseling
- Group Counseling Theories
- Career Counseling and Lifestyle Development
- Research and Program Evaluation
- Counseling Field Experience
All this really means is that I am pretty qualified to help you.
What You Should Know:
Although I have done counseling in the past, coaching is different from counseling.
I do not diagnose you, prescribe medication, and will not treat a mental illness that you have been diagnosed with or believe you have.
If you require any of these things, then you more than likely require a higher level of care than what I offer and it would be best for you to go to a therapist, counselor, or psychiatrist.
AND FOR THAT REASON
Before starting any service. I reserve the right to ask questions to determine the appropriateness of services.
I reserve the right to not take on any client for any reason.
Now that we have that brief introduction out of the way and you are still interested in working with me, read the information below to see what services I offer.
Coaching: $75 per session.
Skype and Phone Sessions Are An Hour.
IF YOU CHOOSE CHAT: The session will be an hour and a half to make up for the time that we spend typing.
IF YOU CHOSE EMAIL: I will conduct an assessment via email to get a full over view of your reason for coaching. After you receive your coaching plan, you can send me up to five more emails within a three month time frame to discuss progress.
All coaching is short term and solution focused. I am here to guide and help you reach your goals. However, your success depends on YOU and how much work YOU are willing to put in to be successful. I will often assign homework as needed.

PREPARE/ENRICH For Couples: Cost: $150
PREPARE/ENRICH is an international based program that helps couples explore and strengthen their relationships.

- Identify strength and growth areas
- Explore personality traits
- Strengthen communication skills
- Resolve conflicts and reduce stress
- Compare family backgrounds
- Comfortably discuss financial issues
- Establish personal, couple, and family goals
The main component of the program is an online survey each person completes in about 30-45 minutes. The items you respond to are based on research and are intended to help you identify the unique strengths and potential growth areas of your premarital or married relationship. You will then meet with me, a trained facilitator, that will provide feedback by helping you understand your results and learn important relationship skills.
PREPARE/ENRICH is for married couples or couples that are looking to get married. Once the fee is paid, the couple will take an online assessment. After the assessment, you will have a one-hour session (for Skype and phone) or an hour and a half session (if done through chat). If needed homework will be assigned. A follow up session will be done one month later to discuss progress and concerns you may have.
IF YOU CHOOSE EMAIL: I will provide the feedback via email with a full explanation of your results, suggested areas you need to work on, and homework if needed. You can email me up to five times within a three-week period if you have any questions regarding the results. At the one-month mark, a follow up email will be done to go over progress. You can respond to me for up to two emails within a three-week period to discuss your one-month progress and get clarification.
