God's Promise To Noah To Never Flood the Earth. Maybe He Should

God’s promise to Noah that he would never never flood the Earth again. If He had not made that promise, I am sure we would be wiped out by now. Humanity is doing the most! It is a shame because one may imagine since we have co-existed on this planet for so long that we would all learn to get along. But like the old saying goes there is nothing new under the sun and I guess we can never fully expel evilness from the hearts of man.

God's Promise To Noah To Never Flood the Earth. Maybe He ShouldThe Lord saw that human evil was growing more and more throughout the earth, with every inclination of people’s thoughts becoming only evil on a continuous basis. Then the Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and he was deeply grieved about that. So the Lord said, ‘I will annihilate these human beings whom I’ve created from the earth, including people, animals, crawling things, and flying creatures, because I’m grieving that I made them.”Genesis 6:5-7

And what about Sodom and Gomorrah, cities who were also destroyed based of their wickedness. But then after the great flood of Noah, God’s promise to Noah consisted of the following.

“I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” Genesis 9:11

As I look around in the world today, I think to myself that if God did not make this promise then He would wipe us all out. Because humanity is really doing the most! The most hatred, the most intolerance, the most evilness that is circulating around.  How can we come so far in technology but have made no head way whatsoever in our hearts and our love for one another.

Law enforcement are killing 12 year old kids, unarmed people, and men on the side of the road because their car is stalled. People are killing each other during protest, people going into schools killing children, people are raping children, and the justice system is not doing their job and is allowing for rapist and murders to go free.  Between racism, protests, wars, terrorism, and people who are just plan crazy and want to wreak havoc on the world for no apparent reason what so ever, we are living in a world that is in a constant state of emergency.God's Promise To Noah To Never Flood the Earth. What is morally right has now become wrong (see my blog here) and we are told to celebrate the things that are wrong. Instead of us just empathizing with one another and attempting to get along, there is so much hate toward one another.  We are all in danger of wiping each other out!

I imagine that if in the days of Noah, God was willing to flood the Earth for what they did. Imagine now, there are billions of people in the world.  Imagine how much He would want to wipe us out.  I mean humanity has literally become one of the most hateful species that faces the Earth.  At least when a lion kills it’s pry he is doing it because he has to eat.  But many people are just plain evil for no reason and doing evil things for no reason.

On social media people call people racist names, people threaten to kill people that they do not even know, people will call people any and everything but a child of God. We are supposed to be the most sophisticated species on the planet but instead we are the most divided, the most hateful, and the most evil.  We seek more to hurt each other instead of loving each other.  We want to spread the message of hate and disrespect one another.  We want to spread the message of sexual immorality instead of respecting one’s body.  And we were made by the most loving creature there is.  God.  And I can only imagine what God has to say about the human race that He created.  How can we be made in his image, but still be so evil at the same time.

It is so sad to think that out of all of the power mankind has, that we set our minds toward evil and not good. And it is even sadder to think that if mankind was not so selfish and sought to make things right for ALL people that the world would actually be a better place.

But since we know that is not going to happen, I think that we should all thank or lucky stars that God does not send a meteorite right now to blow us all to smithereens. He has wiped out civilization before, and for way less than what we have done.
